The Uncle Giuseppe’s Market Place project showcases CMRichey’s technical expertise, adaptability, and ability to execute complex grocery builds under aggressive timelines. This 42,500-square-foot specialty grocery store was constructed within an existing core and shell structure and featured a new 2,500 Amp electrical service and distribution system with emergency power provisions, mechanical and general power, specialty lighting, refrigeration power, and a Mircom fire alarm system—designed and delivered by CMRichey.
Grocery projects like this present unique challenges, with multiple overlapping systems—particularly refrigeration—requiring tight coordination and installation in limited space. CMRichey’s experience and collaborative approach were critical, allowing the team to make timely decisions with trade partners and maintain high-quality execution throughout.
Meeting a fixed December deadline to support peak holiday sales was a top priority. Despite the project’s scale and complexity, CMRichey helped compress the schedule from six months to just four—drawing on proven strengths in manpower planning, technical problem-solving, and schedule-driven delivery.
To further support the project’s goals, CMRichey implemented a unique prefabrication strategy: the complete switchgear and distribution system was pre-built in a custom shipping container at CMRichey’s facility. The container was then craned onto the roof for final connections—saving time, labor, and space, while demonstrating advanced planning, engineering, and execution.
In recognition of the exceptional performance on this project, CMRichey received the ABC Empire State 2022 Construction Excellence Award.
