In the South Bronx, Fresh Direct developed a 650,000-square-foot cold storage and distribution facility to support its expanding operations. CMRichey played an integral role in the project team, completing the electrical scope for nine 13.2kV medium-voltage substations and medium-voltage distribution feeders, 280/480V switchgear and panelboards, and associated distribution feeder systems. Additional work included special equipment wiring, furnishing and installing a 750kW generator, and installing several large MI cable feeder runs, along with a comprehensive building grounding system.
The facility’s large footprint, high ceilings, and extensive interstitial spaces demanded detailed planning and coordination. CMRichey worked closely with the general contractor, engineering team, and trade partners to help deliver this complex, large-scale project successfully.
